How it works

1. Activate Spore Frog by sacrificing it.
2. When Spore Frog dies, Mortuary and Al Bhed Salvagers trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Spore Frog from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Al Bhed Salvagers trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and target opponent to lose 1 life.
5. Resolve the Spore Frog ability.
6. Cast Spore Frog from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Bolas's Citadel to let you cast Spore Frog straight from the top of your library for a mere 1 life instead of its mana cost, while Mortuary quietly catches it the moment it hits the graveyard and tucks it right back onto your library. Meanwhile, Al Bhed Salvagers acts as the win condition, exploiting the constant stream of creature deaths to slowly drain opponents out while padding your life total to safely sustain the Citadel's life payments. Since Spore Frog's sacrifice also prevents all combat damage, you insulate yourself from attacks entirely while grinding down the table.
