How it works

  1. Cast Selective Memory by paying 3U mana.
  2. Storm-Kiln Artist triggers, creating a Treasure token.
  3. Resolve Selective Memory, exiling all nonland cards from your library.
  4. Activate the Treasure token by tapping and sacrificing it, adding R mana.
  5. Cast Flame Jab from your graveyard for its retrace cost by paying R mana and discarding a land card.
  6. Storm-Kiln Artist and River Kelpie trigger.
  7. Resolve the Storm-Kiln Artist trigger, creating a Treasure token.
  8. Resolve the River Kelpie trigger, causing you to draw a land card.
  9. Resolve Flame Jab, dealing 1 damage to any target.
  10. Repeat from step 4.

By using Selective Memory to ruthlessly strip every single nonland card out of your library, you ensure that the only cards left to draw are lands—guaranteeing you'll always have the discard fodder needed to sustain Flame Jab's retrace ability. With River Kelpie sitting quietly on the battlefield, casting that same Flame Jab from your graveyard repeatedly turns every loop into a free card draw, replacing the land you just pitched. Meanwhile, Storm-Kiln Artist acts as your engine's powerhouse, using its magecraft ability to mint a Treasure token every time you cast Flame Jab so you can easily fund its mana cost and keep the chain rolling indefinitely.
