How it works

1. Activate Embrose by tapping it, putting a +1/+1 counter on a creature an opponent controls, then dealing 2 damage to that creature.
2. The creature dies as a state-based action due to having 0 toughness, triggering Embrose, untapping Embrose.
3. Repeat.
4. You may also repeat this loop whenever a creature enters the battlefield under an opponent's control.
5. You may also repeat this loop targeting creatures you control to get extra card draw, if desired.

This clever lock utilizes the front face's flip-side partner Shaile, Dean of Radiance // Embrose, Dean of Shadow equipped with Thornbite Staff, turning the Dean into a relentless removal engine. Godhead of Awe does the heavy lifting by shrinking every other creature to a fragile 1/1, ensuring that Embrose's targeted damage is always lethal. Each time the opponent's creature perishes from that damage, Thornbite Staff's triggered ability untaps the Staff (and thus Embrose), while Embrose's own death trigger rewards you with a fresh card draw if the dying creature happened to bear a +1/+1 counter.
