How it works

1. Activate Fain's third ability by tapping it and sacrificing another artifact, creating a 2/1 Inkling creature token.
2. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing the Inkling.
3. When the Inkling dies, Fain and Pitiless Plunderer trigger.
4. Resolve the Fain trigger, untapping it.
5. Resolve the Pitiless Plunderer trigger, creating a Treasure token.
6. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms simple artifact sacrifices into an engine of relentless growth and wealth. By equipping Thornbite Staff to Fain, the Broker, Fain gains the ability to tap and sacrifice an artifact—such as a Treasure token produced by Pitiless Plunderer—to create a flying Inkling token. When Carrion Feeder promptly sacrifices that Inkling, Pitiless Plunderer triggers to replace the lost artifact while Thornbite Staff untaps Fain, allowing the whole cycle to repeat and endlessly pump Carrion Feeder full of +1/+1 counters.
