How it works

1. Activate Plaguemaw Beast by tapping it and sacrificing another creature.
2. When the creature dies, Plaguemaw Beast triggers, untapping itself.
3. Resolve the Plaguemaw Beast ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth.
4. Herd Baloth triggers, creating a 4/4 Beast creature token.
5. Repeat.

This loop turns a simple sacrifice outlet into an engine of exponential growth, powered by the synergy between Plaguemaw Beast and Thornbite Staff. By equipping the Staff to Plaguemaw Beast—which happens automatically due to its Shaman creature type when a Shaman enters, or can be equipped manually—the Beast gains the ability to untap whenever any creature dies. You sacrifice one of the tokens created by Herd Baloth to Plaguemaw Beast's activation, which proliferates counters onto Herd Baloth itself. That added counter triggers Herd Baloth to create a fresh 4/4 Beast token, and the death of the sacrificed creature simultaneously untaps Thornbite Staff's wielder so the loop can begin anew.
