How it works

1. Activate Fain's third ability by tapping it and sacrificing another artifact, creating a 2/1 Inkling creature token.
2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the Inkling, adding one mana of any color.
3. When the Inkling dies, Fain and Pitiless Plunderer trigger.
4. Resolve the Fain trigger, untapping it.
5. Resolve the Pitiless Plunderer trigger, creating a Treasure token.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Fain, the Broker into a relentless engine by utilizing Thornbite Staff's triggered ability to untap him whenever a creature dies, an effect that seamlessly keeps pace with the loop even though the staff itself stays put on the board.
