How it works

1. Activate Ghired by tapping it, creating a token copy of any creature token you control that entered the battlefield this turn.
2. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing the creature token.
3. When the token dies, Ghired triggers, untapping itself.
4. Resolve the Shilgengar ability
5. Repeat.

This clever loop puts Shilgengar, Sire of Famine and Ghired, Mirror of the Wilds into a mutually beneficial relationship fueled by sacrifice. Ghired's granted ability lets you tap him to make a token copy of a token that entered this turn, which you can immediately feed to Shilgengar to generate Blood tokens. Because Shilgengar's sacrifice triggers the creature's death, Ghired is untapping himself to do it all over again—or you can leverage Thornbite Staff, whose passive untap and tap abilities can further weave into your death triggers when a Shaman enters and equips it, though here the core engine relies on Ghired's own repeatable copying and Shilgengar's grim harvest. Through this cycle, you effortlessly pile up infinite Blood tokens, sacrifices, and entry triggers to overwhelm the board.
