How it works
- Activate Selvala by paying and tapping it, adding at least 1.
- Activate Umbral Collar Zealot twice by sacrificing Selvala and Slimefoot and Squee.
- Activate Slimefoot and Squee by paying 1 and sacrificing a Saproling, returning it and Selvala from your graveyard to the battlefield.
- When Slimefoot and Squee enters the battlefield, it triggers, creating a 1/1 Saproling creature token.
- Repeat.
This brilliant engine loops through the graveyard to generate an endless stream of mana and triggers, perfectly fueled by the interaction between your recursion piece and your mana generator. Slimefoot and Squee acts as the engine's beating heart, sacrificing a Saproling to its own activated ability to pull itself and Selvala, Heart of the Wilds back from the graveyard. Meanwhile, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds taps to provide the massive mana injection needed to pay for these returns, leveraging the high power inherent to the loop. Umbral Collar Zealot clears out the pieces to the graveyard while smoothing your draws through surveil, and Temur Ascendancy rounds it all out by granting haste and turning every recursive entry into a fresh card draw.
