How it works

1. Activate Grim Poppet by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Moritte of the Frost.
2. Hapatra triggers, creating a creature token.
3. Activate Moritte of the Frost by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Grim Poppet.
4. Hapatra triggers, creating a creature token.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the natural push-and-pull of -1/-1 counters into an endless supply of venomous reptiles. By having Moritte of the Frost enter as a copy of Grim Poppet, you bypass its usual lack of native counters and set up a reciprocal firing squad between the two entities. Whenever Grim Poppet's activated ability strips a counter from Moritte of the Frost to place one back, or vice versa, Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons watches the counters land and rewards you with a fresh 1/1 green Snake creature token with deathtouch every single time.
