How it works

1. Activate Grim Poppet by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Synth Infiltrator.
2. Hapatra triggers, creating a creature token.
3. Activate Synth Infiltrator by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, putting a -1/-1 counter on Grim Poppet.
4. Hapatra triggers, creating a creature token.
5. Repeat.

This loop turns a clever bit of mimicry into an endless engine of poison and serpents. By casting Synth Infiltrator and having it enter as a copy of Grim Poppet, you double up on creatures that can freely strip away and redistribute -1/-1 counters between themselves. Every time either of these creatures receives a counter—whether it's Grim Poppet taking one from its synthetic twin or vice versa—Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons watches closely and floods the battlefield with a fresh 1/1 green Snake token with deathtouch.
