How it works

1. Cast Cryptic Trilobite either from your hand or from the top of your library by paying 0.
2. Cryptic Trilobite enters the battlefield and dies as a state-based action due to having zero toughness.
3. Mortuary triggers, putting Cryptic Trilobite on top of your library from your graveyard.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop sets up an infinite engine centered around Cryptic Trilobite entering the battlefield with zero toughness and immediately heading to the graveyard. Mortuary catches the dying automaton every single time, neatly placing it right back on top of your library where Vivien, Monsters' Advocate steps in to let you cast it over and over again from the top. Together, Vivien's top-deck casting permission and Mortuary's recycling trigger turn the tragic zero-toughness death of Cryptic Trilobite into an endless sequence of creature spells, entries, and leaves-the-battlefield triggers.
