How it works

1. Activate Thopter Squadron's first ability by paying 1 and removing a +1/+1 counter from it, creating a 1/1 Thopter artifact creature token.
2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the Thopter, adding 1.
3. When the Thopter dies, Death's Presence triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Thopter Squadron.
4. Repeat.

This loop relies on Thopter Squadron acting as both the resource generator and the growth engine, thanks to its ability to spend a counter to hatch a 1/1 Thopter token. When you feed that token to Phyrexian Altar, you harvest the exact mana needed to pay for the Squadron's activation while triggering Death's Presence. Death's Presence catches the dying token's power and redirects it back into Thopter Squadron as a fresh +1/+1 counter, fully replenishing the system so you can repeat the process indefinitely.
