How it works

1. Cast Songs of the Damned by paying , adding for each creature card in your graveyard.
2. Cast Chthonian Nightmare by paying 1.
3. When Chthonian Nightmare enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to get EEE.
4. Activate Chthonian Nightmare by paying EE, sacrificing Timeless Witness, and returning Chthonian Nightmare from the battlefield to your hand, returning a creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Cast Chthonian Nightmare by paying 1.
6. When Chthonian Nightmare enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to get EEE.
7. Activate Chthonian Nightmare by paying an amount of E equal to Timeless Witness's mana value, sacrificing the creature you returned in step 4, and returning Chthonian Nightmare from the battlefield to your hand, returning Timeless Witness from your graveyard to the battlefield.
8. When Timeless Witness enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Songs of the Damned from your graveyard to your hand.
9. Repeat.

This clever loop revolves around recycling resources to fuel an escalating storm of mana and triggers. By casting Songs of the Damned, you leverage a graveyard full of creatures to generate a massive influx of black mana, which easily pays for recurring spell costs.
