How it works

1. At the beginning of your combat phase, Helm of the Host triggers, creating a nonlegendary token copy of Omarthis with haste.
2. Put a +1/+1 counter on the Omarthis token or another colorless creature you control.
3. The nontoken Omarthis triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on itself.
4. The Omarthis token triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on itself.
5. Repeat from step 3.

This loop turns a simple combat trigger into an explosive compounding engine, anchored by the legendary Ghostfire Initiate itself. By equipping Helm of the Host to Omarthis, Ghostfire Initiate, you guarantee a fresh, nonlegendary copy at the start of every combat phase that retains all the power of the original. Once a single +1/+1 counter is introduced, Omarthis, Ghostfire Initiate and its token copy trigger each other indefinitely through Omarthis's cross-triggering ability, stacking an infinite amount of counters on both creatures.
