How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the creature with Skullclamp attached, adding CC.
2. The creature dies, triggering Skullclamp, causing you to draw two cards.
3. Nadir Kraken triggers twice, causing you to pay 2 to put two +1/+1 counters on Nadir Kraken and create two 1/1 Tentacle creature tokens.
4. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a Tentacle, adding CC.
5. Activate Skullclamp by paying 1, equipping it to a Tentacle token.
6. Repeat.

This loop turns a modest cephalopod into an unstoppable engine by feeding the artifacts in your workshop with fresh biomass. Paragon of Gathering Mists quietly keeps your Tentacle tokens big enough to survive Skullclamp's lethal toughness penalty—or rather, ensures they drop dead instantly to trigger the equipment's card draw, which in turn fuels Nadir Kraken to replace your sacrificed creatures with even more Tentacles. You use the colorless mana generated by sacrificing creatures to Ashnod's Altar to pay for Skullclamp's re-equip cost and Nadir Kraken's card-drawing tax, leaving you with infinite resources and a towering Kraken.
