How it works

  1. Activate Liquimetal Coating by tapping it, causing Jan Jansen to become an artifact creature until end of turn.
  2. Activate Jan Jansen's first ability by tapping it and sacrificing another artifact creature.
  3. When the creature dies, Dross Scorpion triggers, untapping Jan Jansen.
  4. Resolve the Jan Jansen ability, creating two Treasure artifact tokens.
  5. Activate Jan Jansen's second ability by tapping it and sacrificing a Treasure token, creating two 1/1 Construct artifact creature tokens.
  6. Activate a Treasure token by tapping and sacrificing it, adding 1.
  7. Activate Skullclamp's equip ability by paying 1, attaching it to a Construct token.
  8. The Construct dies as a state-based action due to having zero toughness.Skullclamp and Dross Scorpion trigger.
  9. Resolve the Skullclamp trigger, causing you to draw two cards.
  10. Resolve the Dross Scorpion trigger, untapping Jan Jansen.
  11. Repeat from step 2.

This loop transforms Jan Jansen, Chaos Crafter into a self-sustaining artifact engine by using Liquimetal Coating to ensure Jan can always be sacrificed or untapping his abilities on demand. Every time an artifact creature dies—whether it's a Construct token or Jan himself—Dross Scorpion triggers to untap Jan Jansen so the loop can keep going. Skullclamp plays a vital role by immediately killing any creature it equips due to its -1 toughness modifier, turning the stream of fodder into massive card advantage while triggering Dross Scorpion all over again.
