How it works

1. Cast Endless One by paying 0.
2. Endless One enters and dies as a state-based action due to having 0 toughness.
3. Metastatic Evangel triggers, causing you to proliferate and put a +1/+1 counter on Evolution Witness.
4. Evolution Witness triggers, returning Endless One from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Repeat.

This loop turns a free creature into an endless engine by using Evolution Witness as the recurring recovery mechanism; whenever you cast Endless One for zero mana, it immediately enters and perishes as a state-based action, sending it straight to the graveyard. That death triggers Metastatic Evangel, whose proliferate ability adds a +1/+1 counter to Evolution Witness. In turn, Evolution Witness triggers from receiving that counter, allowing you to pull Endless One right back to your hand so you can cast it all over again.
