How it works

  1. Cast Endless One, choosing one for X, but paying 0 due to Animar.
  2. Animar triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on itself.
  3. Endless One enters the battlefield, triggering Cloudstone Curio, returning Ugin's Conjurant from the battlefield to your hand.
  4. Cast Ugin's Conjurant, choosing one for X, but paying 0 due to Animar.
  5. Animar triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on itself.
  6. Ugin's Conjurant enters the battlefield, triggering Cloudstone Curio, returning Endless One from the battlefield to your hand.
  7. Repeat.

This loop transforms the mana-reduction mechanic of Animar, Soul of Elements into a perpetual motion machine by leveraging the unique properties of X-cost creatures. With Animar already boasting a few +1/+1 counters, you can cast either Endless One or Ugin's Conjurant for zero mana. As your chosen creature enters the battlefield, Cloudstone Curio triggers to bounce the *other* zero-cost creature back to your hand, while Animar simultaneously grows larger and reduces future costs even further. By repeatedly casting and bouncing these modular threats back and forth, you generate an endless storm of enters-the-battlefield triggers, infinitely growing Animar's power and board presence for free.
