How it works

1. Activate Combine Guildmage's first ability by paying 1 and tapping it.
2. Activate Viscera Seer by sacrificing the persist creature.
3. When the persist creature dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Combine Guildmage.
4. Resolve the Viscera Seer ability.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop relies on the interaction between a persist creature and Combine Guildmage, whose first activated ability ensures your creatures enter the battlefield with an extra +1/+1 counter. Normally, persist returns a creature with a -1/-1 counter that permanently neutralizes future persist triggers, but this positive counter instantly cancels it out as a state-based action. With that infinite recursion engine running smoothly, Viscera Seer steps in to turn those endless deaths into a bottomless well of scry triggers while fueling whatever sacrifice synergy your graveyard strategy desires.
