How it works

  1. Donate Blightbeetle to an opponent
  2. Activate Viscera Seer by sacrificing the undying creature.
  3. When the undying creature dies, its undying ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield without a +1/+1 counter on it due to Blightbeetle.
  4. Resolve the Viscera Seer ability.
  5. Repeat from step 2.

This intriguing setup turns an opponent’s own defenses against them by utilizing Blightbeetle's static ability, which cruelly ensures creatures your opponents control can't have +1/+1 counters put on them. By using Zedruu the Greathearted to donate that Blightbeetle to someone sitting across from you, any undying creature you control is completely freed from its traditional limitation—meaning every time it hits the graveyard, it returns without the counter that would normally shut the loop down. You can then feed that creature indefinitely to Viscera Seer, churning through your library with infinite scry triggers while generating an endless stream of sacrifices, leaves-the-battlefield events, and death triggers.
