How it works

1. Activate Viscera Seer by sacrificing it.
2. When Viscera Seer dies, Mortuary and Wayward Disciple triggers if it's on the battlefield
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Viscera Seer from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Wayward Disciple trigger, if applicable, causing you to gain 1 life and target opponent to lose 1 life.
5. Resolve the Viscera Seer ability.
6. Cast Viscera Seer from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
7. When Viscera Seer enters, Pious Evangel triggers if it's on the battlefield, causing you to gain 1 life.
8. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns Viscera Seer into an endless engine of recycling and rebirth. By sacrificing Viscera Seer to its own ability, Mortuary immediately catches it on its way to the graveyard and tucks it right back onto the top of your library. From there, Gwenom, Remorseless lets you peer through your library and cast that very same Viscera Seer straight off the top, paying life instead of mana thanks to Gwenom's alternative cost. Meanwhile, Pious Evangel—or its transformed side, Wayward Disciple—watches the constant stream of creatures entering and leaving the battlefield to effortlessly drain your opponents out of the game while padding your own life total to fuel Gwenom's dark bargains.
