How it works

1. Activate Viscera Seer by sacrificing Maulfist Squad.
2. When Maulfist Squad dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Maulfist Squad enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the Viscera Seer ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Isilu, Carrier of Twilight—the night-facing side of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn—to grant persist to your other nontoken creatures, turning every death into a recycling opportunity. When you feed Maulfist Squad to Viscera Seer, the squad’s persist ability returns it to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter, but its fabricate 1 ability immediately triggers to place a +1/+1 counter upon it. Since Magic's state-based actions cause +1/+1 and -1/+1 counters to annihilate each other in pairs, the Maulfist Squad enters with a clean slate, ready to be sacrificed to the Viscera Seer all over again for an endless stream of scries and triggers.
