How it works

1. Activate Viscera Seer by sacrificing a persist creature that doesn't have a -1/-1 counter on it.
2. When the creature dies, its persist ability and Long Feng trigger.
3. Resolve the Long Feng trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on the other persist creature.
4. Resolve the persist trigger, returning the creature from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. Resolve the Viscera Seer ability.
6. Repeat.

This elegant engine transforms the built-in recursion of a persist creature into a self-sustaining loop, anchored by Long Feng, Grand Secretariat and Viscera Seer. Whenever you sacrifice your creature to Viscera Seer's ability, its persist trigger brings it right back with a -1/-1 counter, while Long Feng, Grand Secretariat steps in to place a +1/+1 counter on it as well—causing the two opposing counters to gracefully annihilate each other state-based-action style. Because the creature is left completely free of counters once again, you can feed it back to Viscera Seer indefinitely to continuously sculpt your library with infinite scry triggers while reaping endless enters-the-battlefield, leaves-the-battlefield, and death events.
