How it works
If Runaway Steam-Kin has three or more +1/+1 counters on it, activate Runaway Steam-Kin by removing three +1/+1 counters from it, adding .
Activate Cormela by paying 1 and tapping it, adding that can only be spent to cast instant or sorcery spells.
Cast Demonic Gifts by paying 1, targeting Cormela.
Runaway Steam-Kin triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on itself.
Resolve Demonic Gifts.
Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Cormela.
When Cormela dies, it triggers twice.
Resolve the first trigger, returning Cormela from your graveyard to the battlefield.
Resolve the second trigger, returning Demonic Gifts from your graveyard to your hand.
Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to Cormela's power.
Repeat.
This intricate loop is masterminded by Cormela, Glamour Thief, who acts as both the engine and the recursion target, turning her own demise into fuel. By tapping Cormela alongside the mana-generating bursts of Runaway Steam-Kin, you produce the exact colors needed to cast Demonic Gifts while steadily rebuilding the Steam-Kin's counters through the red spell cast. Altar of Dementia provides the necessary sacrifice outlet to trigger Cormela's death ability—which conveniently loops back to return both Demonic Gifts to your hand and Cormela herself to the battlefield. Meanwhile, the presence of Painter's Servant sits quietly in the background, anchoring the color identity of your cards without even needing to lift a finger in the active sequence.
