Second Chance

How it works

  1. At the beginning of your upkeep, Second Chance triggers, causing you to sacrifice it and to take an extra turn after this one.
  2. Activate Tameshi by paying 3W mana and returning a land you control to its owner's hand.
  3. Tameshi triggers, causing you to draw a card.
  4. Resolve the Tameshi ability, returning Second Chance from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  5. Play any land from your hand.
  6. Repeat each turn.

This cunning loop lets you chain infinite turns together by repeatedly recycling your key enchantment from the graveyard. It all hinges on Second Chance, which gracefully sacrifices itself during your upkeep to gift you an extra turn, provided you've managed to keep your life total at 5 or less. From there, Tameshi, Reality Architect steps in as the master builder: its activated ability lets you pay mana and return a land to your hand to pull Second Chance right back out of the graveyard and onto the battlefield, while its triggered ability rewards that land bounce by drawing you a card. By playing a land from your hand each turn to replace the one you bounced, you smoothly fuel Tameshi's cost and set the exact same sequence up to happen all over again.
