How it works

1. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing it.
2. When Carrion Feeder dies, Mortuary and Proper Burial trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Carrion Feeder from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Proper Burial trigger, causing you to gain 1 life
5. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability.
6. Cast Carrion Feeder from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
7. Repeat.

This loop turns Carrion Feeder into an endlessly recurring sacrifice engine by leveraging Mortuary to constantly slide it right back to the top of your library whenever it hits the graveyard. While Mortuary handles the logistics of keeping the fodder flowing, Proper Burial uses that endless death cycle to pad your life total, cushioning the cost to keep casting. Meanwhile, Gwenom, Remorseless enables the whole engine from the command zone or battlefield by letting you play that sacrificed creature directly from the top of your library, paying life instead of mana to recast Carrion Feeder over and over again.
