How it works
- Declare The Golden-Gear Colossus as an attacker. It triggers, creating two 1/1 Gnome artifact creature tokens and transforming Ultimecia, Time Sorceress into Ultimecia, Omnipotent.
- Ultimecia, Omnipotent triggers, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
- At the beginning of your end step, Soulherder triggers, blinking Ultimecia, Omnipotent. It'll enter the battlefield as Ultimecia, Time Sorceress.
- When Ultimecia, Time Sorceress enters, it triggers, causing you to surveil 2.
- Repeat each turn.
This brilliant time-looping engine relies on turning the entire board into artifacts via Mycosynth Lattice, allowing Tetzin, Gnome Champion—or rather, its back face, The Golden-Gear Colossus—to constantly manipulate and transform our permanents. When The Golden-Gear Colossus attacks, it creates two Gnome artifact creature tokens and triggers its ability to transform Ultimecia, Time Sorceress into her formidable back face, Ultimecia, Omnipotent, which immediately grants an extra turn through Time Compression. Meanwhile, Soulherder provides the vital blink utility, stepping in at the end step to exile Ultimecia, Omnipotent and return her safely to the battlefield as Ultimecia, Time Sorceress so she can surveil 2 and ready herself to do it all over again next turn.
