How it works

- Herd Baloth triggers, creating a creature token.
- Activate Xavier Sal using Barrenton Medic's second ability by putting a -1/-1 counter on it, untapping Xavier Sal.
- Repeat.
This ingenious loop turns Xavier Sal, Infested Captain into an engine for infinite growth by feeding him a steady supply of fodder and counters. With Agatha's Soul Cauldron exiling Barrenton Medic and granting its activated untap ability to creatures you control that have +1/+1 counters, Xavier Sal gains the means to untap himself endlessly by paying the cost of a -1/-1 counter. Meanwhile, Herd Baloth acts as a perpetual motion machine, its ability triggering whenever +1/+1 counters are distributed to spawn a fresh Beast creature token that Xavier Sal can immediately sacrifice to fuel the entire sequence.
