How it works

1. Activate Gilded Lotus by tapping it, adding .
2. Cast Bring to Life by paying 2, causing Gilded Lotus to become a 0/0 artifact creature and putting four +1/+1 counters on it.
3. Activate Vigean Graftmage by paying 1, untapping Gilded Lotus.
4. Activate Gilded Lotus by tapping it, adding .
5. Repeat from step 3.

This ingenious loop transforms a harmless mana rock into a self-sustaining engine by relying on Animating Faerie's Adventure side, Bring to Life, to turn Gilded Lotus into a creature permanently laden with four +1/+1 counters. With that foundation set, Vigean Graftmage steps in to exploit those very counters, using its activated ability to untap the newly minted creature for a modest investment of mana. Because Gilded Lotus taps for three mana of any one color while the untap ability costs only two, every single iteration of this cycle yields a net profit of one mana.
