How it works
- Cast Bring to Life by paying 2, causing Maskwood Nexus to become a 0/0 artifact creature, then putting four +1/+1 counters on it and exiling Bring to Life.
- Activate any number of mana-producing creatures you control by tapping them, adding at least 3.
- Activate Maskwood Nexus by paying 3 and tapping it, creating a 2/2 Shapeshifter creature token.
- When the Shapeshifter enters the battlefield, Intruder Alarm triggers, untapping all creatures.
- Repeat from step 2.
- If creatures you control can tap to produce at least 4, this combo nets infinite mana.
This ingenious loop transforms a harmless artifact factory into a self-sustaining engine by uniting Maskwood Nexus with the global untap trigger of Intruder Alarm. Because Maskwood Nexus's passive ability grants every creature type to your spells and permanents—including the Shapeshifter tokens it creates—every new arrival triggers Intruder Alarm to untap your entire board. You simply fuel the Nexus's activation cost by tapping your newly untapping mana-producing creatures, and if those creatures can generate at least four mana per activation cycle, you'll net infinite mana alongside an endless army of tokens. To set this whole mechanical symphony into motion, Animating Faerie plays a crucial early role by casting its Adventure, Bring to Life, permanently animating your Maskwood Nexus into a creature so that it can be legally untaped by the Alarm's cascade of triggers.
