How it works

  1. Play Riveteers Overlook.
  2. When Riveteers Overlook enters, it and Retreat to Emeria trigger.
  3. Resolve the Retreat to Emeria trigger, creating a 1/1 Kor Ally creature token.
  4. When the Kor Ally enters, Haru triggers, earthbending Riveteers Overlook.
  5. Resolve the Riveteers Overlook trigger from step 2, causing you to sacrifice it, search your library for an applicable land and put it onto the battlefield tapped, and gain 1 life.
  6. Haru triggers, returning Riveteers Overlook from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  7. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop turns a single fetch into a self-sustaining engine by exploiting the timing of land sacrifice and earthbending. When Riveteers Overlook enters the battlefield, Retreat to Emeria capitalizes on the landfall trigger to generate a 1/1 white Kor Ally token, which in turn prompts Haru, Hidden Talent to earthbend the very same Overlook into a creature. Because the Overlook's own entry trigger requires you to sacrifice it, that sacrifice sends the land-creature to the graveyard just in time for Haru's delayed return trigger to bounce it right back to the battlefield—ready to restart the whole sequence and pull every basic land out of your deck.
