How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Tenacious Dead.
2. When Tenacious Dead dies, it, Sifter of Skulls, and Pitiless Plunderer trigger.
3. Resolve the Pitiless Plunderer trigger, creating a Treasure token.
4. Resolve the Sifter of Skulls trigger, creating a creature token.
5. In response to the remaining trigger, activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing the creature token.
6. When the creature token dies, Pitiless Plunderer triggers, creating a Treasure token.
7. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability from step 5.
8. Activate two Treasure tokens by tapping and sacrificing them, adding .
9. Resolve the Tenacious Dead trigger, paying 1 to return it to the battlefield from your graveyard.
10. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability from step 1.
11. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms a humble Tenacious Dead into an unstoppable milling engine by leveraging a few key passive enablers. When you sacrifice Tenacious Dead to the Altar of Dementia, Pitiless Plunderer and Sifter of Skulls watch from the battlefield to generate a Treasure token and an Eldrazi Scion token every time a creature dies. You can immediately sacrifice that newly minted Eldrazi Scion to Altar of Dementia to fuel more milling, while Pitiless Plunderer triggers a second time to yield another Treasure. By cashing in these Treasures for the black mana needed to pay Tenacious Dead's resurrection cost, the entire cycle becomes self-sustaining and endlessly repeatable.
