How it works

1. Cast Wheel of Misfortune by paying 2, choosing an arbitrarily large number and having Wheel of Misfortune deal that much damage to Spiteful Sliver instead of you due to Pariah if you chose the largest number.
2. Spiteful Sliver triggers, dealing that much damage to an applicable target.

This clever loop turns Wheel of Misfortune's own chaotic self-damage against your foes by exploiting a brilliant redirection chain. By enchanting Spiteful Sliver with Pariah, any massive damage you assign yourself when secretly choosing the highest number on Wheel of Misfortune is safely funneled onto your own creature instead. Because of Spiteful Sliver's static ability granting a triggered ability to your Sliver creatures whenever they take damage, that enormous amount of damage is immediately reflected outward to an opponent or planeswalker.
