How it works

1. Activate Blood Pet by sacrificing it.
2. When Blood Pet dies, Mortuary and Moonlit Wake trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Blood Pet from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Moonlit Wake trigger, causing you to gain 1 life
5. Cast Blood Pet from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the humble sacrifice of Blood Pet into an engine of endless iteration, fueled entirely by the card-manipulating magic of Mortuary. Because Mortuary immediately recycles Blood Pet back to the top of your library when it dies, Gwenom, Remorseless steps in to let you cast it right back off the top, trading life instead of mana—a cost comfortably offset by the steady stream of life gained from Moonlit Wake. As you cycle Blood Pet back and forth between the battlefield and the graveyard, you continually generate black mana while racking up infinite sacrifices, leaves-the-battlefield triggers, and storm count.
