How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Restless Apparition, adding CC.
2. When Restless Apparition dies, its persist ability and Necrosynthesis trigger.
3. Resolve the Restless Apparition trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter and a vigilance counter on it.
4. Resolve the Necrosynthesis trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on Tayam.
5. Activate Tayam by paying 3, removing a +1/+1 counter from Tayam, and both counters from Restless Apparition.
6. Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Restless Apparition, adding CC.
7. Repeat steps 2-4 one additional time.
8. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Restless Apparition, adding CC.
9. Resolve Tayam's ability from step 5, causing you to mill three cards and returning Restless Apparition from your graveyard to the battlefield.
10. Repeat.

This clever loop is held together by Restless Apparition and its native persist ability, which constantly brings it back to the battlefield to be sacrificed to Ashnod's Altar for colorless mana. Meanwhile, Necrosynthesis turns each of those creature deaths into a steady stream of +1/+1 counters for Tayam, Luminous Enigma, which quietly powers the luminous archon's activated ability. By spending that mana and stripping away the accumulated counters, Tayam reaches into your graveyard to endlessly resurrect Restless Apparition, generating an infinite engine of sacrifice, self-mill, and mana.
