How it works

  1. Cast Mourning by paying 2 life, targeting K'rrik.
  2. Aetherflux Reservoir and K'rrik trigger.
  3. Resolve the K'rrik trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
  4. Resolve the Aetherflux Reservoir trigger, causing you to gain an amount of life equal to your storm count.
  5. Resolve Mourning, attaching it to K'rrik.
  6. Activate Mourning by paying 2 life, returning it to your hand from the battlefield.
  7. Repeat.
  8. Once you have infinite life, you may use Aetherflux Reservoir's ability to deal infinite damage to any target(s).

This ingenious loop relies on turning life into mana with K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, allowing you to bypass the traditional resource system entirely. By reducing the cost of Mourning using Mana Matrix, you can repeatedly cast the Aura for a mere two life and bounce it back to your hand for another two life, which actually generates a net positive life gain thanks to Aetherflux Reservoir's cascading healing triggers. As you loop this process, Aetherflux Reservoir not only keeps your life total safely out of reach, but it also rapidly builds a massive storm count until you have enough reserves to activate its 50-damage ability to close out the game.
