How it works

  1. Cast Petals of Insight by discarding Aven Surveyor.
  2. Conspiracy Theorist triggers, exiling Aven Surveyor and allowing you to cast it from exile this turn.
  3. Resolve Petals of Insight, putting the top three cards of your library on the bottom of your library, and returning Petals of Insight to your hand.
  4. Cast Aven Surveyor from exile by discarding Petals of Insight.
  5. Conspiracy Theorist triggers, exiling Petals of Insight and allowing you to cast it from exile this turn.
  6. Aven Surveyor enters the battlefield, returning itself from the battlefield to your hand.
  7. Cast Petals of Insight from exile by discarding Aven Surveyor.
  8. Repeat from step 2.

This ingenious loop turns a pair of alternate-casting-cost engines into an endless feedback cycle of mutual discarding. **Dream Halls** lets you bypass normal mana costs entirely by discarding a card that shares a color with the spell you are casting, perfectly pairing with **Conspiracy Theorist**, whose static replacement effect catches those discarded nonland cards and allows you to cast them right back out of exile. By alternating between casting **Petals of Insight** (which conveniently bounces itself back to your hand as part of its resolution) and **Aven Surveyor** (which uses its own entry trigger to bounce itself right back to your hand), you continuously feed each other into the graveyard. The result is an infinite self-discard engine that racks up endless magecraft triggers, storm count, and creature comings and goings without ever needing a drop of traditional mana.
