How it works

1. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Slurrk.
2. When Slurrk dies, its innate ability and persist ability trigger.
3. Resolve Slurrk's innate ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control that already has a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve Slurrk's persist ability, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with four +1/+1 counters on it due to its replacement effect.
5. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability.
6. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight into a persistent engine of growth by utilizing its back side to grant persist to your team. When you sacrifice Slurrk, All-Ingesting to Carrion Feeder, Slurrk's own death triggers distribute new +1/+1 counters to your creatures while persist sneaks it right back onto the battlefield to do it all over again. The counters placed by Slurrk's own triggered ability cleverly clear away the -1/+1 counter that persist would normally leave behind, allowing the cycle to repeat indefinitely and pump Carrion Feeder to astronomical heights.
