How it works

1. Cast Astrid by paying 1.
2. When Astrid enters the battlefield, its first ability and Samwise Gamgee trigger.
3. Resolve the Astrid trigger, creating two Clue, two Food and two Treasure tokens.
4. Resolve the Samwise Gamgee trigger, creating two Clue, two Food and two Treasure tokens.
5. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Astrid, putting a +1/+1 counter on Carrion Feeder.
6. Activate Samwise Gamgee by sacrificing three Foods, returning Astrid from your graveyard to your hand.
7. Activate two Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 1.
8. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a modest hobbit and her fellowship into an unstoppable token factory. By leveraging Academy Manufactor's replacement effect, every time Astrid Peth or Samwise Gamgee tries to make a single Food, you instead flood the board with an excess of Clues, Foods, and Treasures—a surplus further amplified by Peregrin Took. You then feed Astrid Peth to Carrion Feeder to send her to the graveyard, allowing Samwise Gamgee's ability to cash in three of your abundant Foods to recur her back to your hand. Finally, cracking just a couple of your newly minted Treasures provides the mana to recast Astrid Peth, repeating the whole cycle to generate infinite resources of every kind.
