How it works

1. If Morselhoarder has any -1/-1 counters on it, activate it by removing a -1/-1 counter from it, adding one mana of any color.
2. Repeat step 1 as necessary until Morselhoarder has no -1/-1 counters on it.
3. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Morselhoarder.
4. When Morselhoarder dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability.
6. Repeat.

This engine is brilliantly powered by the dual-faced versatility of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight, whose nighttime form grants persist to your other nontoken creatures. When you sacrifice Morselhoarder to Carrion Feeder, its persist ability brings it straight back to the battlefield with a single -1/-1 counter, which completely resets its native entry counters. From there, you simply tap into Morselhoarder's mana-producing ability by removing that counter for mana, feeding it back to Carrion Feeder whenever you need to loop the process anew.
