How it works
- Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing the persist creature.
- When the persist creature dies, it and Dragon Appeasement trigger.
- Resolve the Dragon Appeasement trigger, causing you to draw a card.
- Resolve the persist creature's trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
- When the persist creature enters the battlefield, Olivia triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on the persist creature and causing you to discard a card.
- Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability.
- Repeat.
This clever loop turns the self-sacrificing engine of Carrion Feeder into a card-drawing machine, neatly bypassing Dragon Appeasement's harsh drawback of skipping your draw step by drawing cards whenever you sacrifice a creature instead. As your persist creature continuously dies and returns to the battlefield, Olivia, Mobilized for War steps in with her triggered ability, letting you discard a card and cancel out the creature's -1/-1 counter with a +1/+1 counter to keep the cycle going forever.
