How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Arid Archway.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Arid Archway.
5. When Arid Archway dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Arid Archway from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Arid Archway enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability

This ingenious loop turns your zero-mana artifacts into a recurring engine by leveraging Toph, the First Metalbender, whose static ability turns all your nontoken artifacts into lands. With that foundation set, you can cast your artifact for free, triggering Toph, Hardheaded Teacher to earthbend Arid Archway into a 0/0 creature-land. You then sacrifice that land-artifact to Carrion Feeder, whose sacrifice ability fuels your infinite +1/+1 counters and death triggers. The magic finishes when Arid Archway's death triggers Toph, Hardheaded Teacher to return the land to the battlefield; its own entry trigger then bounces the original zero-mana artifact right back to your hand, ready to start the cycle anew.
