How it works

1. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing the persist creature.
2. When the persist creature dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When the persist creature enters the battlefield, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
5. Repeat.

This ingenious engine leverages Cayth, Famed Mechanist to grant fabricate 1 to your persist creature, turning every resurrection into a self-repairing loop. Whenever the persist creature is sacrificed to Carrion Feeder, it returns with a -1/-1 counter, only for its newly acquired fabricate ability to immediately counteract that blemish by placing a +1/+1 counter upon entry. Because state-based actions subsequently neutralize both counters via annihilation, the creature remains pristine and ready to feed Carrion Feeder all over again.
