How it works

  1. Activate Purphoros by paying 2R mana, putting Firestorm Phoenix onto the battlefield from your hand.
  2. When Firestorm Phoenix enters the battlefield, Mana Echoes triggers, adding at least CC.
  3. Activate Thermopod's second ability by sacrificing Firestorm Phoenix, adding R mana.
  4. Firestorm Phoenix is returned to your hand instead of being put into your graveyard.
  5. Repeat.
  6. If there are at least two other Phoenixs on the battlefield, this combo will produce infinite colorless mana.
