How it works

1. Increase Living Hive's power or combat damage ouput by any method so it deals at least 7 combat damager per attack.
2. Declare Living Hive and Hellkite Charger as attackers.
3. Hellkite Charger triggers, causing you to pay 5 to untap all attacking creatures and to get an additional combat phase after this one.
4. Deal combat damage to an opponent using Living Hive.
5. Living Hive triggers, creating at least seven 1/1 Insect creature tokens.
6. Move to your next combat phase.
7. Declare Living Hive and Hellkite Charger as attackers.
8. Hellkite Charger triggers, holding priority, activate Thermopod's second ability seven times by sacrificing seven Insects, adding seven .
9. Resolve the Hellkite Charger trigger, causing you to pay 5 to untap all attacking creatures and to get an additional combat phase after this one.
10. Repeat from step 4.
11. If Living Hive deals at least 8 combat damage per attack, this combo nets infinite Insect tokens and red mana.

This clever loop relies on Hellkite Charger to endlessly chain combat phases, provided you can pay its steep mana cost each time. Living Hive solves this by turning those very attacks into an army of Insect tokens whenever it connects with a player, scaling its output to fund the dragon. To turn those creatures directly into the necessary mana, Thermopod steps in with its sacrifice ability, letting you effortlessly cash in your newly minted bugs for red mana.
