How it works

1. Cast Whim of Volrath by paying due to Samut.
2. Namor triggers, creating a 1/1 Merfolk creature token.
3. Resolve Whim of Volrath.
4. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the Merfolk, adding .
5. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns a simple color-changing spell into an engine for infinite tokens and mana, all powered by the discounts from Samut, the Driving Force. When you cast Whim of Volrath, Samut's cost reduction allows you to pay just {U}, which triggers Namor the Sub-Mariner to flood the board with 1/1 Merfolk tokens. You can then immediately feed one of those newly minted Merfolk to Phyrexian Altar to generate the blue mana you need. Because Whim of Volrath features buyback {2}, you can pay the remaining cost using the mana from the Altar to return the spell right back to your hand, repeating the cycle as many times as you desire.
