How it works

1. Activate Phantom Train by sacrificing the persist creature.
2. When the persist creature dies, it triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to your commander's ability granted to it by Master Chef.
3. Resolve the Phantom Train ability
4. Repeat.

By using Master Chef to grant your commander and other creatures the ability to enter the battlefield with an extra +1/+1 counter, you completely negate the mechanical drawback of persist creatures that usually limits them to a single revival. As you repeatedly activate Phantom Train by sacrificing that persist creature, the creature dies only to immediately return with a fresh +1/+1 counter from Master Chef, which instantly cancels out any lingering -1/-1 counters and sets up an infinite loop. This engine generates infinite sacrifice triggers, creature leave-the-battlefield and enter-the-battlefield events, and as many +1/+1 counters as you could possibly desire on Phantom Train.
