How it works

  1. Play Dakmor Salvage.
  2. When Dakmor Salvage enters, Emeria Angel and Kodama trigger.
  3. Resolve the Kodama trigger, choosing to put nothing onto the battlefield.
  4. Holding priority, activate Troubled Healer by sacrificing Dakmor Salvage.
  5. The Gitrog Monster's second ability triggers, causing you to mill two cards and return Dakmor Salvage from your graveyard to your hand.
  6. If a land was milled this way, The Gitrog Monster's second ability triggers, causing you to draw a card.
  7. Resolve the Troubled Healer ability
  8. Resolve the Emeria Angel trigger, creating a token.
  9. When the token enters the battlefield, Kodama triggers, putting Dakmor Salvage from your hand onto the battlefield.
  10. When Dakmor Salvage enters the battlefield, Emeria Angel triggers.
  11. Repeat from step 4.

This elegant loop turns the simple act of playing a land into a self-sustaining engine by cleverly manipulating replacement and triggered abilities. When you play Dakmor Salvage, its entry triggers both Emeria Angel to spawn a Bird token and Kodama of the East Tree to let you cheat something into play. By holding priority and sacrificing that very same Dakmor Salvage to Troubled Healer, you trigger The Gitrog Monster's draw replacement effect—dredging the land right back to your hand instead of drawing—which in turn prompts The Gitrog Monster to reward you with a real card draw whenever a land hits your graveyard. Meanwhile, the token from Emeria Angel enters the battlefield and feeds right back into Kodama of the East Tree's ability, allowing you to drop Dakmor Salvage straight back onto the battlefield to restart the whole cycle.
