How it works

1. Whenever a creature enters the battlefield, Lethal Vapors triggers, destroying that creature.
2. Because Collector Ouphe prevents Lethal Vapors's activated ability from being activated, it cannot be destroyed due to its ability.

This curious alchemy turns the board into a permanent graveyard for every new arrival by pairing Lethal Vapors with Mycosynth Lattice, which turns every permanent on the battlefield into an artifact. Normally, Lethal Vapors could simply sacrifice itself to a player's activation to escape the loop, but Collector Ouphe steps in as the guardian of the lock by shutting down all activated abilities of artifacts. Because the Vapors is now an artifact and its self-destruction ability is entirely forbidden, no one can ever dismantle the enchantment, creating a permanent soft-lock that instantly destroys any creature daring to enter the battlefield.
