How it works

1. Activate Bloodflow Connoisseur by sacrificing Rendclaw Trow
2. When Rendclaw Trow dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Rendclaw Trow enters, Stalwart Successor triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Rendclaw Trow
4. Resolve the Bloodflow Connoisseur ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on the constant recycling of Rendclaw Trow, whose native persist ability normally brings it back from the grave burdened with a -1/-1 counter. However, Stalwart Successor steps in to completely neutralize that drawback, its triggered ability immediately slapping a +1/+1 counter onto the Trow the moment it re-enters the battlefield. Because Magic's state-based actions cause +1/+1 and -1/+1 counters to annihilate each other, the Trow is left completely clean of counters—allowing persist to trigger all over again the next time it meets its end. Meanwhile, Bloodflow Connoisseur acts as both the grim executioner and the ultimate beneficiary, happily consuming the Trow to grow larger and larger while fueling an endless stream of deaths and enters-the-battlefield events.
